The short version

Your planner is yours. We do not sell your data, show ads, or use your tasks to train advertising profiles. You can turn AI off, export everything, or delete your account at any time.

What we collect

Account details (username and email), the tasks and preferences you create, files you choose to upload, calendar events you import, focus session history, and basic technical logs needed to keep the service running. Passwords are stored as one-way hashes, never as plain text.

When AI is on

If you enable AI assistance, the text of a syllabus, study material, task title, or task notes may be sent to Google's Gemini API to extract assignments, suggest a first step, or split a task. AI is off by default and can be turned off in Settings. Do not upload material you are not allowed to share.

How we use it

To sign you in, generate your schedule, send optional reminders you requested, provide support, keep the service secure, and fix bugs. We do not sell personal information.

Email and reminders

Email is used for account recovery and, only if you opt in, a daily summary of your plan. Every reminder email includes a one-click unsubscribe link. Browser notifications are controlled by your browser and can be revoked there.

Storage, sharing, and security

Data is stored in our database and processed by infrastructure providers that help us run the service, including hosting and email delivery. We use HTTPS in production, hashed passwords, and access controls. No system is perfectly secure, so use a unique password.

Retention and deletion

Your data stays while your account exists. Deleting your account removes your profile, tasks, staged uploads, calendar events, XP events, and focus history from the active database. If backups are enabled, they rotate out within 30 days. Some records may be kept longer when law requires it.

Your choices

You can turn AI assistance off, turn email reminders off, correct your preferences, export your data as JSON, or delete your account in Settings. You can also email us to request access or deletion.

Children

Plan Not Perfect is intended for people aged 16 and over. It is not designed for children, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.

Changes

If this policy changes materially, we will update the version date and notify you in the app before the change takes effect.
